Closing the Main Cabin Door with one hand
- James Albright (a former G450 driver)
Updated: 2015-09-04
I've heard from Day One in the GIII that getting your fingers pinched while closing the main cabin door is just one of those things that happens. I've never closed the main cabin door on a GIII since we had flight engineers in our Air Force GIIIs. My next Gulfstream was a GV and I was taught the right way from early on so, all these years later, I've never shed any blood to the main cabin door. But I continue to witness the bloodletting. Learn early and you can avoid all that.
Note: this style of door has finally gone away. Our GVII has an electric locking mechanism.
